Filmverse Texture – Type B

Filmverse Pro Texture — Type B is a Resolve-native DCTL that drops into any node, wrapping your grade with a physically modelled layer of grain, dust, halation, and optical softness. Sitting inside the Filmverse pipeline, it inherits whatever color-management you feed it—no extra transforms required. Add the DCTL, pick a preset, tweak, and you’re done.


Grain Preset

  • 35 mm Film – tight, low-contrast grain that reads as modern negative stock.
  • 16 mm Grain – medium-sized particles for an obvious but still refined 16 mm feel.
  • Coarse 16 – dual-layer pattern; a large, soft base grain plus mid-grain for a deliberately rough, documentary look.

Grain Animation

  • Automatic – seed changes every frame, driven by frame number; grain always moves.
  • Manual – you keyframe Grain Seed (0 → 100 across the shot) for custom, time-based evolution.

Grain Amount – overall strength of the grain layer (0 = none, 1 = default, >1 exaggerates). Higher values raise both luma and chroma noise.

Grain Size – scales particle diameter. Lower numbers produce fine, nearly imperceptible texture; higher numbers create chunky, point-visible grain.

Grain Detail – micro-contrast inside each grain clump. Turning it up sharpens edges within the texture; turning it down gives a smoother, softer grain cloud.

Highlight Grain – multiplier for grain intensity in tones above ~70 IRE. Use it to keep highlights clean (values <1) or to push bright-area texture (values >1).

Grain Seed – random seed for the noise function. Animate or keyframe to avoid static “frozen” grain on stills or slow-motion plates.

Dust – master amount for simulated gate dust. Each increment adds more specks distributed across the frame.

Dust Density – controls how tightly packed those specks are. Low density scatters a few flecks; high density can emulate heavily worn prints.

Overall Softness – post-grain Gaussian diffusion. Values between 0.2–0.4 mellow digital harshness; higher settings evoke vintage low-con filters.

Halation Size – radius (in normalized image space) of the warm halo that blooms around high-energy highlights. Small values hug the highlight edge; large values spread several pixels outward.

Halation Color – chroma gain for the halation tint. At 0 the halo is essentially white; at 1 it matches Kodak-style orange; above 1 oversaturates for stylised glow.

Monochrome Grain [beta] – forces luma-only noise. Good for B&W looks or when you want grain without chroma contamination.
