Once the base film look has been established using the input/output transforms, negative and print stock selections, and core adjustments, Step 7 provides tools for more detailed refinement. These controls are grouped under Advanced Fine Tuning, and are structured around four key aspects of the picture: Skin Tone, Tonal Response, Saturation & Density, and Bleach Bypass.

Each component is designed to work within the film emulation pipeline, preserving the integrity of the look while allowing for additional creative or corrective adjustments.

Component 1: Skin Tone Adjust

This control is intended to adjust the hue of skin tones without affecting the rest of the picture. It allows for subtle shifts between red and yellow tones, which can help compensate for how different film stocks render skin. This simplifies workflows by avoiding global changes to temperature or tint.

Component 2: Highlights, Shadows, Split Intensity, and Style

These controls affect the tonal structure of the image. Highlights and Shadows allow for isolated adjustments to bright and dark regions while keeping midtones anchored. Split Intensity introduces or reduces tonal separation inspired by the selected negative stock, and the Style control lets you shift the overall character of the look between a retro or modern direction.

Component 3: Saturation & Density

This group of controls refines how color and brightness behave across the picture. Filmic Saturation is tuned to deepen color response in lower luminance areas. The Red, Green, and Blue Density sliders selectively target brighter areas of each channel, allowing for controlled emphasis or softening of tonal details.

Component 4: Bleach Bypass

A simplified bleach bypass effect that reduces overall saturation and increases contrast, while minimizing unwanted side effects such as crushed blacks or blown highlights. It serves as a stylized adjustment layer that retains tonal structure.

Together, these components provide flexibility for shaping the final picture while respecting the underlying logic of the film look.
