The Style control provides a global tonal influence that shifts your picture between Retro and Modern characteristics. It doesn’t override the look built by your selected film stocks, but instead modifies how the highlights and shadows behave tonally across the entire picture, offering an extra layer of stylization after the core emulation is in place.

When you move the control toward the left (Retro), the tonal balance shifts in a specific direction:

• Highlights become cooler in temperature
  
• Shadows gain warmth
   This simulates the tonal split often associated with vintage film processes or aged film prints. It can create a nostalgic feeling even when using modern or cleaner film stocks.

In contrast, moving the control toward the right (Modern) does the opposite:

• Highlights take on a warmer tone
  
  
• Shadows lean cooler
   This gives the picture a more refined, polished, and digitally contemporary tone. It’s a subtle way to introduce visual clarity and cleanliness without abandoning the film-based architecture.
